Venezuela revokes licenses from TAP and other companies that suspended flights to the country

TAP canceled Saturday and Tuesday’s TP170 flights to Venezuela

Venezuela announced, this Thursday, that it revoked the concessions of TAP, Iberia, Avianca, Latam, Turkish and Gol after the companies suspended flights due to the military escalation,

Authorities accuse the airlines of “joining the actions of state terrorism promoted by the US government, unilaterally suspending airline operations to and from the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.”

The decision was published in the Gazette of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

A for Venezuela, following information from United States aviation authorities about the security situation in the country’s airspace.

The company explained that the decision “results from information issued by the aeronautical authorities of the United States of America, which indicates that safety conditions in Venezuelan airspace are not guaranteed, particularly in the Maquetia flight information zone”, adding that “all passengers were informed of the cancellation and that they will be able, if they wish, to request a refund”, regretting “the inconvenience caused” by a decision that “aims to guarantee the safety of passengers and crew”.
