Career of Amanda Nunes

The “Leoa” ended her time with two belts. In addition to bantamweight, she was the featherweight champion, a category that became extinct after the Brazilian’s retirement.

Amanda was bantamweight champion at the historic UFC 200, submitting Miesha Tate in the first round of the event’s most important fight. She had five consecutive title defenses in the category, until she was defeated by Julianna Peña.

In the immediate rematch, she dominated Peña and regained the belt, defending it once again, in the farewell fight against Aldana.

During his dominance at bantamweight, he also ventured into the featherweight category, when he won the belt in December 2018, by knocking out Brazilian Cris Cyborg in a highly anticipated UFC fight. She successfully defended that title on two occasions and retired as division champion.

Amanda is the owner of several achievements, such as the winning streak in the bantamweight category and also the highest number of knockouts and submissions in the division. She also became the first two-division champion to defend both belts simultaneously in UFC history.
