Cookies with chewy chocolate are a classic that absolutely everyone enjoys – both children and adults. They are easy to prepare, and their greatest advantage is the soft interior full of melted, chewy chocolate. We know such cookies from American films and fairy tales they often appear on a plate next to a glass of milk, left on December 6 for St. Santa Claus on the windowsill by the window. If someone cultivates this tradition with children, these homemade cookies will be perfect. They can also become a sweet, handmade St. Nicholas gift that will please not only children but also adults.
Ingredients:
- 230 g of wheat cake flour,
- 3/4 teaspoon of baking powder,
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt,
- 150 g of butter,
- 100 g of can sugar sugar,
- 100 g of white sugar,
- 1 egg + 1 yolk,
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract,
- 200 g of dark chocolate.
How to do it:
1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Line two baking trays with baking paper.
2. Combine flour with baking powder and salt. Cut the chocolate into cubes.
3. Melt the butter in a pot. When it starts to brown slightly, turn off the burner. Combine the butter with both types of sugar and mix. Mix for a few minutes until the mixture cools down.
4. Add the egg, yolk and vanilla extract to the butter mixture. Mix all ingredients again. Mix for a few minutes.
5. Add loose products to the mixture in batches. Stir the resulting dough with a spatula. Finally, stir in the chocolate. Set aside some to sprinkle on the cookies.
6. Shape the dough into 12 balls. Place half of them – at considerable distances from each other (the cookies will “spread” during baking) on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
7. Wet your hands (this will make gluing easier). Form 12 large balls. Place 6 on one baking tray, spaced widely apart. Place the reserved chocolate on top of the balls and sprinkle with a little salt.
8. Bake in batches for about 11 minutes – the cookies will be very soft and their edges will be browned. Cool on the baking trays until they harden completely.
