Fabrício Moreira competed injured at Olympia Brasil 2025 – 28/11/2025 – Muscle

Mr Olympia Brasil 2025, which took place last month in São Paulo, hosted one of the most talked about bodybuilding championships of the season. The public was able to see big names in national sport, such as Felipe Moraes and Fabrício Moreira, fighting for a place in Olympia 2026, which will take place in Las Vegas, in the United States.

Despite coming in second place, Moreira shocked the public by presenting – at least until then – the best physique of his career. The “giant killer” (a nickname that means “giant killer” in Portuguese and plays on the athlete’s height) rose like never before and didn’t leave the victory cheap for Moraes.

What most of the public doesn’t know about the bodybuilder’s preparation for the tournament in question is the fact that he almost didn’t compete due to a knee injury.

In an interview with the column, Moreira talks first-hand about the problem that affected him: “I had an inflamed knee tendon, I couldn’t train my leg. This is something I didn’t talk about before, but I did practically all of this preparation without training my quadriceps, just the hamstrings.”

“I even tried to stimulate it, but it hurt too much. I couldn’t do anything (…) in the end, I even managed to do one exercise or another. But I remember that every week Pacholok and I asked ourselves: ‘Will it work?’ Every week, there was this uncertainty. We agreed that as long as the physique responded, the preparation would be maintained. In the end, we ended up being able to train and have a good physique”, adds the bodybuilder.

Rivals only on stage

During the conversation, the athlete also commented on his relationship with the Mr Olympia Brasil 2025 champion in 212. In addition to the October duel, the two have already faced each other on several occasions – including at Olympia 2023, where Moreira came in 9th place and Moraes, in 10th.

“Felipe and I are very good friends. We participated in the first edition of Casa dos Champions together. We met there and formed a lasting friendship. Off stage, there is no rivalry at all. He is a guy for whom I wish all the best, he is a good person and has just gone through an extremely difficult period in his career”, he states.

Moreira also recognizes that, “despite the injuries”, his opponent “came back very well”. He also says he believes that the result “was more due to the referees’ personal tastes” and that both bet on different strategies for the show.

Who is Fabrício Moreira

The “tank”, the nickname by which he is also known, is one of the best Brazilian bodybuilders in the 212 category. Professional since 2018, he has already won several titles and represented Brazil at the Olympia on two occasions: 2023 and 2024.
