Berlin – The black-red coalition in Germany wants to campaign at the EU level for easing of the planned ban on new combustion cars from 2035. Accordingly, “highly efficient combustion engines” should be allowed to be approved even after 2035, as the German Press Agency learned from faction circles after the coalition committee. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) wants to write a corresponding letter to EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
