“For an apple pie in a pan, I recommend well-ripe, juicy apples. When they are too sour, the pie loses its natural sweetness. And if you mix them with cinnamon, you get a combination that will excite you,” chef David Šlapák told Recipe.

Fragrant cake with the taste of home

This cake is popular precisely because it does not require any complicated procedures or long baking. The apples in the pan soften beautifully, release their juice and form a naturally sweet layer. The dough will be soft and stays soft and fluffy. Thanks to the simplicity of the recipe, it will easily become one of those that are made regularly in the kitchen.

Pancake Apple Pie Recipe

Raw materials:

  • 2 large apples
  • 1 egg
  • 3-4 tablespoons of sugar
  • 5 tablespoons plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 vanilla sugar
  • a pinch of cinnamon
  • a piece of butter

Procedure:

Peel the apples and coarsely grate them. Mix them with cinnamon. Beat eggs with sugar and vanilla sugar in a bowl, add flour with baking powder and make a smooth dough. Melt the butter in a pan, pour the apples evenly over it and pour the batter over them. Close the pan and cook slowly over medium-low heat until the underside is golden brown. Then turn the cake over, preferably with a plate, and cook the other side as well. It is ready in about fifteen minutes.

Simplicity that works

The cake has a pleasantly pure apple taste and does not need any other ingredients. Lemon zest or a splash of rum can be added for a more pronounced aroma, but it is not necessary. The strength of the recipe is how well it works in its simplest form.
