St. Andrew’s Day takes place on the night of the 29th to the 30th. For years, it has been an evening of fortune telling and superstition. This is the last time to organize larger events before Advent and the upcoming Christmas. You can then try out a lot of fortune telling. The most popular is pouring wax, but there are plenty of other superstitions, one of which requires an apple.
This tasty and cheap fruit will be useful on St. Andrew’s Day evening. Interestingly, it has a double effect – it can provide for the next year and give a big hint in emotional matters. For this fortune telling, you will need an ordinary apple — preferably a bit larger, the variety doesn’t matter, although it’s better to choose one that you can eat later, because all we need is the skin.
Apart from that a small knife will come in handywith which you can remove the skin – a peeler is not necessarily useful, because what matters is that the skin should be removed preferably in one piece or as long as possible. The longer it is, the luckier you will be. If the pieces measure a few centimeters, prosperity may visit you less frequently. Thus it is worth trying to ensure that the peel is at least a dozen or so centimeters long.
Apart from the fact that peeling the apple “at once” will grant you favor from fate, such a peel may suggest one more thing. Thanks to it, you will learn a lot about your emotional life…

After peeling the apple, take the peel and throw it over your left shoulder. Then take a closer look at it – you can ask your friends or family for help. Try to see the letter that comes to mind when you look at the apple peel on the ground – does it look like an L, maybe an O or a P. Try to see it, it is useful because if we trust this fortune telling, it will be the name of your future wife or husband will begin with this letter.
It is a ritual that was usually addressed to lonely people. Of course, you can do it when you are in a relationship, but it is worth treating this type of superstitions with a pinch of salt – they are great fun, especially on St. Andrew’s Day, but they never guarantee 100% fulfillment.
