Two days away from facing Botafogo at home, Corinthians still has injury problems. Memphis Depay continues to undergo treatment in the medical department. A new physical problem for the player was found. With this and three games remaining to finish the Brasileirão, the question arises whether Memphis will still play in 2025. Sporting News explains the situation.
Is Memphis Depay injured? When will you be back?
A knee sprain took the player out of the match against Cruzeiro. The injury occurred during the classic against São Paulo, last week. In the match, Memphis started on the bench because he was worn out on the trip to defend the Netherlands team in the qualifiers, he came on in the second half and scored a great goal, the second of Corinthians’ 3-1 victory.
However, the problem appears to have evolved. Now, the Dutch striker is undergoing treatment for bone edema, diagnosed after a sprain in his left knee. He still doesn’t have a confirmed return date.
Memphis’ last two injuries, both muscular injuries to his right thigh, were the ones that took the attacker off the field for the longest time. In August, there were 21 days of recovery; then, between September and October, another 25 days.
Probable Corinthians lineup:
Felipe Longo (Hugo Souza); Matheuzinho, João Pedro Tchoca, Gustavo Henrique, Fabrizio Angileri (Matheus Bidu); Raniele, André Carrilo (Maycon), Breno Bidon, Rodrigo Garro; Gui Negão and Yuri Alberto. Technical: Dorival Junior.
