In an interview with UOLdespite talking about the possibility of voting for Tarcísio, Eduardo said that the governor of São Paulo “is not right-wing”, and that he tries to “sail on calm seas”: “I only reserve the right not to deceive my voters, because there is a relationship of trust”, he stated.

“Now, don’t try to paint Tarcísio as a right-wing person, because he isn’t. Tarcísio is a centrist technocrat who, on the political scene, he thinks there is still room for dialogue with the [ministro do STF Alexandre de] Moraes,” he said.

After the interview, the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) took to social media to comment on the matter. In the post, he suggested the governor’s opportunism and said that “Tarcísio is the candidate the system wants”.

“Tarcísio is the candidate that the system wants and I will always be clear and truthful with my voters and supporters. A person of principle, upon seeing that he keeps a person in private prison just to benefit him in an election, should be the first to refuse to run for office – for any position. Attachment to the position destroys the politician. I do not agree with those who imprison elderly people and innocent people”, he said.
