Flamengo defender can achieve a feat that no other athlete has achieved

This Saturday’s Libertadores final (29) could celebrate a defender who has already won several titles in his career and returned to Brazil this year.

Danilo, 34 years old, will be at Monumental de Lima, in Peru, looking for his second Libertadores title. Today at Flamengo, the athlete participated in Santos’ title campaign in 2011, even scoring a goal in the final.

Libertadores and Champions League champion

The player is part of a select list of athletes with Libertadores and Champions League titles on their CV. In Europe, Danilo played for great teams and won the continental cup in 2015-16 and 2016-17 with Real Madrid.

If he is champion this Saturday for the red and black, Danilo will be the the only player in world football to be a two-time Libertadores and Champions League champion.

The second South American title would crown the veteran’s season, after more than ten years on the Old Continent.
