The president of , , told a delegation of Brazilian businesspeople and politicians that he defends a ceasefire in , but conditioned on guaranteeing border protection against new Russian aggression in the future.
He participated on Thursday (27) in a meeting with around 60 Brazilian businesspeople at the Élysée Palace, headquarters of the French government, organized by former governor João Doria.
Politicians such as former president Michel Temer and senators Eduardo Gomes (PL-TO) and Efraim Filho (União-PB) were also present.
At the meeting, Macron also said that the end of the war in Ukraine still depends on negotiations with President Vladimir Putin, and added that it is necessary to start drawing up a reconstruction plan for the country.
The US and European countries have sought to mediate an end to the war, but the effort still comes up against Russian demands such as the demilitarization of Ukraine and the cession of territories.
