The Monumental Stadium “U”, home of the Universitario de Deportes, stands out for its colossal dimensions. The arena has an official capacity for 80,093 spectatorsa number that places it among the largest in South America and makes it significantly larger than its rival in the capital, Lima’s National Stadium, which can host 45,574 people.
This is not the first time that the Peruvian stage has hosted the Libertadores final. The first occasion was in 2019, in a historic single-game final. In that confrontation, the Flemish won the title by overcoming River Plate 2-1, comeback.
