Palmeiras mourns the death of a fan in Peru

Cauê Brunelli Dezotti was on a panoramic bus with other team fans when he suffered a strong impact to the head

Palmeiras mourned on Friday (28.Nov.2025) the death of Cauê Brunelli Dezotti, 38 years old, a fan who was in Lima (Peru) to watch the Libertadores final between the team and Flamengo, which will be this Saturday (29.Nov.2025).

The Palmeiras native was on a panoramic bus with other passengers who were fans of the team, traveling the route known as “Circuito de Playas”. During the journey, the vehicle passed under a low walkway, when Cauê ended up suffering a strong impact on the head. He was taken to the hospital, but died.

“Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras deeply regrets the death of fan Cauê Brunelli Dezotti, 38 years old, who was in Lima, Peru, to follow the Conmebol Libertadores decision, scheduled for this Saturday. According to local authorities, the Palmeiras fan was the victim of an accident while riding on a tourist bus. We express our solidarity with Cauê’s family and friends in this moment of pain and sadness”wrote Palmeiras on Instagram.

The fan was a urologist in Limeira and Campinas, São Paulo.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs told the Poder360 that, through the Brazilian Embassy in Lima, “is aware of the case and provides the appropriate consular assistance”.

The match between Palmeiras and Flamengo, scheduled for 6pm (Brasília time), will be played at the Monumental Stadium, in Lima (Peru). Whoever wins will be the first Brazilian club to win the fourth Libertadores championship.
