Shots leave three dead at Cefet do Maracanã, in Rio

The Military Police were called this Friday afternoon (28), following reports of gunshots inside a teaching unit in Maracanã, north of Rio de Janeiro. Two women were shot and rescued by the Fire Department, but they did not survive their injuries.

During searches at the location, agents found the body of a man, preliminarily identified as the person responsible for the shooting. According to initial information from the Capital Homicide Police Station (DHC), the suspect allegedly shot at the victims and then committed suicide.

The shots took place at Cefet do Maracanã. Forensics have been called and the incident is ongoing. The Civil Police are investigating the deaths of three people and are taking steps to clarify the circumstances of the attack.
