Soft, delicious, and their appearance is stunning. These cookies will be great for St. Nicholas Day

We have a tradition in our family that the evening before St. Nicholas Day we leave a treat for Santa Claus and his reindeer, along with a letter – when my children wake up in the morning, they find only crumbs and small gifts left behind.

This time we will prepare delicious ones Rudolph’s cookies. Not only Santa’s favorite reindeer will like them.

  • 1 kg of wheat flour,
  • 300-320 g of honey,
  • 150 g sugar,
  • 200 g of butter,
  • 2 eggs,
  • 2 tablespoons of spices (gingerbread),
  • 30 h of the sacrificed soda.

Decoration:

  • red chocolate drops or candies (Rudolph’s noses),
  • 100 g of milk or dark chocolate,
  • 1 tablespoon of butter (to melt the chocolate).

Melt the butter and honey in a pot. Add sugar and spices, mix thoroughly. Set aside to cool.

Pour flour and baking soda into a bowl and mix. Pour in the cooled honey mass and add the eggs. Knead a smooth, soft dough. Wrap them in foil and put them in the fridge for at least 1 hour.

Roll out the cooled dough to a thickness of approx. 4–5 mm. Cut out round shapes – preferably with a glass or a round cutter. Place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Bake for about 10 minutes at 180°C and then cool.

Melt the chocolate together with the butter in a water bath or in the microwave (stirring briefly).

With the prepared icing, make 2 eyes on the top of the cookie and reindeer antlers, i.e. two arched shapes above the eyes.

Glue the red drops in the very center of the cookie – this will be Rudolph’s nose. Set the cookies aside for 20-30 minutes for the decoration to set.
