Weather for New Year’s Eve 2025/2026. What do the first forecasts say?

Mereologists presented the first long-term weather models, including forecasts for the first days of 2026. While the weather for Christmas 2025 may surprise us with a winter aura, and snowfall is forecast in many regions of Poland, it may change slightly on New Year’s Eve. During this period, there may be fog making visibility difficult. This is especially a challenge for drivers who must be careful while driving. The weather change is forecast for the 3rd week of December 2025. Then cooling and winter weather will come. Forecasters indicate that the latest weather models do not predict a sudden onslaught of winter. The temperature will drop to around 0 degrees Celsius, and at night it may even fluctuate around a dozen or so degrees below zero. Snowfall will be recorded in many regions of Poland, but it will not be anything above the norm in recent years. Snow may persist in southern and eastern regions of Poland.

The end of the year may greet us with heavy rainfall and snow. Forecasts indicate that in the last days of 2025 temperatures will fluctuate around 0 degrees Celsius. During the day, they will rise to a few degrees above zero and drop below zero at night. Rain and snow are also forecast, which will freeze at night, creating dangerous conditions for driving and walking. IMWM indicates that rainfall is above average. Snow will dominate in the south of Poland and that’s where you can count on a white New Year’s Eve. In January 2026, temperatures similar to those recorded over the last few years should be expected.

There are many indications that the upcoming New Year’s Eve will not be favorable for outdoor events. Who knows, perhaps this year will be dominated by “house parties” and events in the style of the Polish People’s Republic, where herrings, corks, bigos and plates of cold cuts dominated the tables.
