Urologist doctor died this Friday (28) on a bus, after hitting his head on the Bajada Bridge, in Miraflores, at the moment the vehicle, which was open, was passing under it.
A passionate fan of , urologist Cauê Brunelli Dezotti, 38 years old, crossed the continent to watch the World Cup final against . A resident of Limeira, in the interior of , he had been in Lima, Peru, since the days leading up to the decision, scheduled for this Saturday (29), when he died in an accident in the city.
Cauê worked as a urologist in private practices in the cities of Limeira and Campinas. Discreet outside the professional environment, he was described by close friends as someone driven by two great passions: medicine and Palmeiras.
Fan Rafael Spadoni, who was on the trip with his friend, published a farewell message: “Our trip was so special. It was supposed to be a celebration, our adventure, full of laughter, hope and companionship. But, in the midst of this joy, tragedy struck us. You left suddenly, leaving a void that was impossible to accept,” he said.
“Your memory will accompany me wherever I go. And on that day that we imagine of glory in the stands, you will be with me, in my memory, in my heart, as if you had never left”, he added.
On social media, Cauê shared moments of his work routine. The trip to Peru was the realization of an old dream: to closely watch a continental final wearing green.
Cauê’s death was officially mourned by Palmeiras, who published a note of condolence in solidarity with the fan’s family and friends. The repercussion gained strength among Palmeiras residents who were already in the Peruvian capital and also in , on the eve of the decision.

Witnesses reported that fans were standing on the second floor of the bus and did not notice the bridge approaching. A doctor present at the scene provided first aid, but Cauê lost a lot of blood and could not resist.
The tragedy transformed the atmosphere of expectation into consternation among Palmeiras fans who traveled to Peru to support the team. The Libertadores’ big decision takes place at 6pm (Brasília time), at the Monumental Stadium.
