that on November 12, a man was arrested for the second time for committing serious crimes of sexual abuse and corruption of minors by posing as a sports representative. The , has identified 61 victims, all of them minors, who had not formalized a complaint before. In some cases, the now detained man even maintained intimate relationships with some victims. The armed force reports that the detainee was released in a previous arrest and that he failed to comply with the judicial measures imposed.
The operation began following the testimony of one of the victims, who, with psychological support, revealed the abuse suffered in December 2024.
From that moment, and after collecting the first indications of the events in March, the corresponding actions were launched to clarify what happened. “The success of the investigation was based on the meticulous analysis of the content of the mobile phone seized from the detainee and the obtaining of multiple statements from both victims and witnesses,” the agents stated in a note issued this Sunday.
The method of action of the alleged perpetrator, identified among the minors with a nickname, was “highly planned and structured.” He operated in the digital environment, as sexual offenders usually do on the Internet, he used “emotional manipulation techniques to obtain material with sexual content and promote face-to-face encounters” ――, which materialized “on several occasions.”
The detainee combined two “especially effective” methods of deception, according to the information available. On the one hand, he used his identity as a supposed sports manager. He presented himself as a professional with contacts. It offered minors false promotion opportunities: trials in high-performance clubs, inclusion in professional databases or dissemination of their profiles in specialized networks.
These promises became an instrument of manipulation to generate a debt of gratitude that resulted in obtaining favors of a sexual nature, including the request for pornographic material or the arrangement of intimate encounters.
The individual also took advantage of his apparent position of authority as a sports representative to exercise control over the minors, who obeyed his instructions without questioning them, even when they deviated from the strictly sports field. “The detainee’s dangerousness lay not only in his capacity for deception and persuasion, but also in his reckless failure to comply with judicial authority by continuing with his activities while he was under investigation.”
Furthermore, the investigation has revealed that the detainee used false female identities to expand his reach and reduce the suspicions of young people. Through these profiles on social networks, he gradually introduced conversations with sexual content, requested intimate images and sent pornographic material, in order to normalize these behaviors. The victims reported that he showed repeated insistence on discussing sexual topics and requiring explicit photographs.
The agents confirmed, in turn, that the detainee had failed to comply with the judicial measures imposed after a first arrest, the date of which the armed force has refused to specify. Despite the prohibition on carrying out activities related to minors as a result of this first arrest, he organized a sports trip in which several of them participated. Once the facts were brought to the attention of the judicial authority, on November 12 he was arrested again, decreeing his immediate entry into prison for violating the precautionary measures.
Within the framework of this new action, a home search was carried out that allowed the agents to seize new elements of interest, currently undergoing analysis.
For the Civil Guard, this operation highlights the importance of “raising awareness among families and minors” about the risks of grooming: the intentional manipulation by an adult to gain the trust of a minor for the purposes of abuse.
