Flamengo Festival will have electric trio parade in Rio – 11/29/2025 – Sports

Rio City Hall has set up a special operational scheme for the Flamengo fans’ party this Sunday (30), when the team will parade in an electric trio after winning their fourth Libertadores title.

Primeiro de Março Street and Presidente Antônio Carlos Avenue, in the Center, will be closed in the morning to welcome the champions of America, who are expected to attract around 500,000 fans to the 850-meter route.

The red and black delegation disembarks at Galeão airport at 9:30 am and will go straight to the Center. The trio’s starting point will be Primeiro de Março, near Buenos Aires Street, advancing to the vicinity of Araújo Porto Alegre Street.

Along the route, three sound towers will be installed, and the truck will stop at Avenida Almirante Barroso to greet the fans.

In the surrounding area, other roads will also be closed to facilitate public and vehicle movement with players. CET-Rio states that the closures begin at 5am and should be released at 4pm.

Primeiro de Março will be blocked between Avenida Presidente Vargas and Rua da Assembleia; President Antônio Carlos will have all lanes closed between Rua da Assembleia and Avenida Beira Mar. Parking has been prohibited in the area since 8pm this Saturday (29).

For those who need to cross the Center towards the south or north zone, the recommendation is to use routes through Lapa — such as Rua Teixeira de Freitas, Avenida Mem de Sá and Rua do Riachuelo — or the Santa Bárbara, Rebouças and Marcello Alencar tunnels. Nearby roads, such as Mexico Street, Rio Branco Avenue and Franklin Roosevelt Avenue, remain open.

CET-Rio advises that anyone who has scheduled appointments, such as flights at Santos Dumont airport and trips to the Novo Rio bus station, should leave in advance.

Public transport will also see changes. The guidance from the Municipal Transport Department is that the public should give preference to the metro. Bus lines that pass through Presidente Antônio Carlos, Primeiro de Março or routes such as Santa Luzia and Almirante Barroso will have detours, and buses that end at the Menezes Cortes terminal will have boarding and disembarking changes.

Monitoring of the event will be centralized at COR-Rio, in Cidade Nova, which will have 50 operators on duty in front of the 104 square meter video wall. The teams will monitor images from around one hundred cameras installed in the parade area. Two drones will also be used to reinforce monitoring of blockages and access.

In urban planning, the Public Order Secretariat and the Municipal Guard will have 240 agents distributed across 25 blocking points. Vendors will only be able to enter after control by the Urban Control Coordination, and the entry of glass bottles, carts, foodtrucks and bicycles is prohibited.

According to the city hall, four medical stations and 250 chemical toilets will also be available along the route.
