The , recently crowned champion of the , disembarked on the morning of this Sunday (30) and immediately headed towards the city center, where hundreds of thousands of fans were waiting for their idols to celebrate the continental title. The plane carrying the red and black delegation landed at 9:58 am, local time, at Tom Jobim International Airport, coming from Lima, where on Saturday (29) the team led by Filipe Luís won their fourth championship by defeating the team 1-0.
After disembarking, the Flamengo players traveled by bus, escorted by police officers on motorcycles, to the center of Rio, where they were expected to celebrate the Libertadores title in front of around 500,000 fans, according to city hall estimates.
The Libertadores champions plan to parade for 850 meters in the city center, in front of their fans, to display the trophy and celebrate the continental achievement with the fans.

Dozens of fans went to Rio’s international airport to see their idols, although the vast majority were already in the city center hours before the red-and-black team landed, celebrating their fourth Copa Libertadores title.
In addition to this achievement, Flamengo can achieve the “double crown” this week by also beating . To do this, simply beat Ceará at home on Wednesday (3) or hope that Palmeiras, who play at the same time, don’t beat Atlético-MG.
