Mayor of Recife and federal deputy for São Paulo have been together since 2019
The mayor of Recife, (PSB), and the federal deputy (PSB-SP) announced this Saturday (29) that they are engaged. The news was announced in a joint post on social media, in which the couple appears smiling and showing off their rings. In the caption, Campos wrote: “Yes, with all my heart! May God bless the family that we begin to build today. I love you so much and forever!” Tabata also published the image and celebrated the moment with her fiancé.
The two have been together since 2019. According to Tabata, the relationship began after a period of friendship. She said that she met João when she tried to create an external commission to supervise the Ministry of Education, when he became vice-president of the group.
The deputy has already said that the politician declared himself suddenly, during a dinner. “He turns to me one day, at dinner, sits next to me and declares himself. My friend, where did this come from? I wasn’t prepared,” she said, in an Instagram post made last year. The surprise was so great that she said she spent the night talking to a friend about the episode.
João Campos, son of former governor Eduardo Campos and great-grandson of Miguel Arraes, took office as mayor in 2021. Tabata Amaral is serving her second term as federal deputy for São Paulo.
