Behaviors that “profoundly affect the dignity, self-esteem, mental health and physical integrity of workers”. This is how the representatives of the Assembly of the Republic describe the attitudes of Chega’s parliamentary group.

In a formal complaint sent to the secretary general of the Assembly of the Republic, Anabela Cabral Ferreira, and cited by , the parliamentary workers union calls for protective measures.

According to the union, Chega deputies show a “lack of political neutrality”, and “have been accused of amend the Journals of the Assembly of the Republic with the sole intention of hiding the comments intended for Chega.

The union names a situation that occurred in October, in which Chega deputies “accused the Assembly services of cutting their intervention time”. The competence to do so lies with the president of the Assembly of the Republic, but Chega insisted, “publicly shouting that ‘the employees of the Assembly of the Republic have to respect the representativeness of the Assembly of the Republic (…) and are not here for them, are paid here by Portuguese taxes’“.

According to the union, the attitudes of this parliamentary group “toprofoundly affect dignity, self-esteem, mental health and physical integrity of workers, are causing enormous discomfort to workers, causing them extreme anxiety”

The workers state, therefore, that “the suitability and good name of the workers are at stake, raising doubts about their honesty, character and professionalism, and the violation of the right to honor and seriousness or the offense to their good name, reputation and image is not acceptable”.
