The Municipality of Portimão once again awards shopping vouchers to 7,500 children and young people in pre-school, 1st, 2nd and 3rd cycles, in a municipal investment of 112,500 euros. According to the municipality, the measure aims to “support local businesses and families”, allowing younger people to enjoy a happier Christmas.
Each child will receive 15 euros in vouchers (three units of 5 euros), which will be distributed among the five school groups in the municipality. Vouchers can be used until January 31, 2026 in participating stores and services.
The City Council recalls that this measure to stimulate local commerce has had a significant impact. In 2024, more than 75 thousand vouchers were delivered, an increase of around 15% compared to 2023, representing almost 1 million euros in sales in participating stores.
In 2025, the initiative will be part of the “No Natal, Compre Local” campaign, part of the Comércio do Centro Portimão brand, and is the result of a partnership between the Municipality of Portimão, ACRAL – Associação do Comércio e Serviços da Região do Algarve, APCS – Associação Portimonense do Comércio e Serviços, and ATP – Associação Turismo de Portimão. For this campaign, 30 thousand euros were allocated.

Aimed at people over 18 years of age, the campaign runs between December 1st and 31st. Consumers who make purchases of 10 euros or more in participating stores receive coupons, which must be delivered to the Balcão Único de Portimão, on the 1st floor, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, between 10:00 and 13:00 and 14:00 and 18:00.
The coupons entitle participants to fortnightly draws, in which shopping vouchers of 25, 50 and 100 euros will be awarded. Membership of establishments is free and done in person at Balcão Único, where they receive coupons to distribute to customers. The participating stores will be identified with an initiative label.
The draws are scheduled for December 10th and 12th and January 6th, at 11:00, at Balcão Único. Every week, 160 vouchers of 25 euros, 60 vouchers of 50 euros and 30 vouchers of 100 euros will be drawn, totaling 5,000 euros in prizes.
Winners will be notified and will be able to use the vouchers until January 31, 2026, on minimum purchases of 10 euros.
