Victor Travancas, advisor to the State Civil House who expressed “deep disagreement” with the Government Secretariat, was appointed as government representative at PortosRio, which manages the state’s public ports.
The lawyer took office as advisor to Companhia Docas do Rio de Janeiro last Friday (28). The appointment was approved at an Extraordinary General Assembly by the company, controlled by the Union and which manages the state’s public ports, such as those in Rio de Janeiro, Itaguaí, Niterói, Forno and Angra dos Reis.
Travancas will replace advisor Jurandir Lemos Filho as representative of Rio de Janeiro, a minority shareholder. The lawyer’s term of office runs until June 2027.
“There, as in all the places I have been, I will defend the public interest and fight corruption. It hurts whoever it hurts”, he tells the Panel.
At the beginning of the month, Travancas sent a letter to governor Cláudio Castro asking for dismissal from the position and citing as the reason for the decision the “profound non-compliance” with the Government Secretariat.
Moura, affiliated with , is a former federal deputy and was responsible for crimes against public administration. In 2023, the court declared the extinction of punishment after partially ratifying a non-criminal prosecution agreement proposed by the (Attorney General’s Office).
Travancas told the Panel that, although the STF had determined the termination of Moura’s punishment, whom he calls a criminal, this does not mean “that the events that occurred and the corruption he practiced did not exist.” It also mentions posts alongside the former deputy, accused of involvement with Comando Vermelho.
