The Brazilian national team coach, Carlo Ancelotti, was interviewed on the program “Esporte Record”, on TV Record, last Sunday night (30). Participation in the Sunday sports led by Cleber Machado and Paloma Tocci was the Italian coach’s first in a TV studio in Brazil.
Six months after the World Cup, Ancelotti guaranteed the presence of two names at the World Cup.
“Estêvão will be at the World Cup. He is a very special player, very different. He is progressing very well at Chelsea. And Vinicius Júnior, for sure, will have a great season, like the last ones he had at Real Madrid. He will arrive at the World Cup very well. Vinicius is going to the World Cup”, revealed the Seleção commander.
World Cup draw
FIFA confirmed the procedures for the draw of the 2026 World Cup groups. With this, fans are already making projections for possible duels.
Fifth in the world rankings, Brazil will be one of the top seeds in the competition. In addition, Argentina, France, England, Portugal, Holland, Belgium, Germany and the United States, Canada and Mexico complete pot 1.
For the draw on December 5th, which will be held in Washington, the federation that runs world football has defined some confederation restrictions.
A World Cup group will not be allowed to have more than one team from the same region. This rule only does not apply to UEFA teams, which have 16 representatives and can place up to two teams in a bracket.
Because of this, South American teams will not be able to compete against Brazil in the group stage of the 2026 World Cup.
It is worth remembering that, with the rule of a maximum of two Europeans per group, if teams from the Old Continent from pots 2 and 3 fall into the European team from pot 4 (from the UEFA play-offs) they are necessarily out of the Selection’s path.
