Brasileirão reaches the final stretch with Santos and Inter threatened with relegation; see chances

Fortaleza’s 1-0 victory over Atlético-MG set fire to the fight against relegation. With two rounds remaining, the result left the scenario of the fight against relegation. In addition to the Ceará tricolor, Santos, Internacional, Vitória and Ceará are also fighting to remain in the first division. Sport and Juventude are already relegated and two more teams that will go to Series B remain to be defined.

According to the Department of Mathematics and Statistics of the Federal University of (UFMG), Santos has a 51.4% risk of falling. The team is in 16th, with the same 41 points as Inter, the team that opens the Z-4, but has the better on balance (-11 to -12).

Santos has one of the most favorable tables among the threatened teams. After defeating bottom team Sport, the team plays in Caxias against Juventude, who have already fallen and are thinking about 2026. The last game will be against Cruzeiro, in Vila Belmiro. The Minas Gerais team should save starters thinking about the semifinals of the .

After being beaten 5-1 by Vasco, Inter saw the probability of falling increase to 40.8%. The gauchos fired Ramón Díaz from technical command and hired Abel Braga to try to escape the sticking. Ceará is in the most comfortable situation, in 14th, with 43 points. However, they have the most difficult commitments: they play at Maracanã against Flamengo, champion of the Libertadores and who need to win to confirm the Brasileirão title, and face Palmeiras, at home.

Rival Fortaleza has the most dramatic situation, but the unbeaten streak of eight games, with three consecutive victories, is encouraging. The Ceará tricolor hosts Corinthians in the next match and ends the Brasileirão against Botafogo, in Rio.
