The former secretary of Julio Cesar Vieira Gomes, involved in the case of the release of the former president (), was fired on the 25th by the (Comptroller General of the Union).

The second conversation between them was on December 27th. “Julio Cesar stated that on December 27, 2022, he received a call from Jair Bolsonaro to thank him for his management and, on that occasion, the former president asked if he had information about the research requested days before about the retained jewels. Julio Cesar reportedly told then-president Jair Bolsonaro that he passed the information on to Mauro Cid”, writes the PF in its report.

The PF concluded that the former president committed crimes of criminal association (with a prison sentence of 1 to 3 years), money laundering (3 to 10 years) and embezzlement/appropriation of public property (2 to 12 years).

Bolsonaro’s assistants were also subject to indictment, including the former Minister of Mines and Energy and Mauro Cid, who signed a plea bargain with the police.
