The suspect of Taynara Souza Santos, 30 years old, last Saturday (29), denied knowing the victim. Douglas Alves da Silva, 26, also said he was sorry “from the first hour”. He spoke leaving the São Paulo Civil Police Flagrant Center. Taynara was dragged for about a kilometer and had her legs amputated as a result. She remains hospitalized in the ICU. Douglas undergoes a custody hearing, with no possibility of being released, as his arrest was carried out by court order, so today’s hearing is only for the Court to determine whether there was a violation of rights during his detention. Suspect reacted to the agents’ actions and was shot during arrest. He was hospitalized, but was released shortly afterwards.

Douglas ran over Taynara as he left a bar, according to witnesses. She was dragged for a kilometer before being abandoned at Marginal Tietê, on Rua Manguari, where she was dragged from Avenida Morvan Dias de Figueiredo. Douglas fled the scene and was arrested last night (30). According to witnesses, the two had argued in the bar where she was and the victim knew him.
