Identified as Douglas Alves da Silva, 26 years old, the driver who ran over and dragged a woman in Tietê Marginalin the Vila Maria region, in the north of São Paulo, was arrested on Sunday night (30).
The man was wanted for attempted femicide and had the intention to run over and kill the victim, according to the SSP (Public Security Secretariat). The suspect was taken to the 4th Siege Section (Special Corps for the Suppression of Organized Crime), in the North zone of the capital of São Paulo.
The 31-year-old woman was with a friend in a bar. The victim was rescued and taken in serious condition to the Vereador José Storopolli Municipal Hospital, with apparent injuries to the face and both legs.
Mother of two children, the woman is intubated in stable condition and had to have her legs amputated below the knee line, requiring blood transfusion.
A video obtained by CNN Brazil show a victim walking down the street with a man. The pair leave the security camera’s angle and, 30 seconds later, the camera captures the serious collision. The driver not only runs over her, but runs over the woman with his Wolkswagen Polo car and drags her along the street.
A second video, taken by a person driving on Marginal Tietê, shows the man dragging his wife a long distance along the avenue.

After analyzing the circuits, the PM located a vehicle compatible with the one involved in the crime. Based on the information already gathered about the suspected man, police went to his address, but were unable to locate him.
