Minister of Health Kamil Šaško (Voice-SD) presented a draft amendment to the drug policy on Monday. The management of the entry of new medicines into the market should be made more efficient, medicines for children and patients with serious diseases should be more accessible, and the conditions for reimbursement of medicines for the exception should also be adjusted.

The draft amendment also brings measures to reduce illegal re-export, to keep medicines in the reimbursement mechanism or to ensure critically unavailable medicines. The head of the department is convinced that the proposed changes will significantly improve the system and patients’ access to medicines. At the same time, he emphasized that he is submitting the proposal to the interdepartmental comment procedure and that he will discuss each comment.
