Paraná creates an AI algorithm to map aggression against women – 12/01/2025 – Panel

The government of Paraná developed technology to map the chances of someone with a police record as a domestic worker in the state suffering another attack.

Called the Domestic Violence Revictimization Algorithm, it uses Artificial Intelligence based on algorithms supervised by “machine learning”.

A database made up of around 15 million police reports will provide a standard of information about the victim and the aggressor to support police decisions. The goal is to minimize the chance of her being attacked again.

Forms from Fonar (National Risk Assessment Form) and the National Council of Justice (CNJ) will also be used.

They contain information such as whether the potential aggressor uses illicit drugs or drinks, whether he is unemployed or has financial difficulties, whether he has easy access to a firearm, whether the couple has children and whether he and the potential victim live in the same property.

The data crossing performed will generate an index from 0 to 1, which demonstrates the level of risk of suffering a new attack. The information will be shared with the Court of Justice of Paraná, the Public Ministry and the Public Defender’s Office.

“We will increase the ability to predict a possible recurrence of the aggressor, qualify police assistance and expand our protection network for women in situations of violence”, says the Secretary of Public Security of Paraná, Colonel Hudson Leôncio Teixeira.

The initiative is another one from management. (PSD) in the area of public security. to make his presidential candidacy viable next year.
