Gingerbread with chocolate Our recipe is a festive, extremely flavorful and moist cake. The combination of chocolate, plums and spices means that no one will refuse this sweetness during the upcoming Christmas holidays. Be sure to use butter, real honey and good quality maple syrup to prepare it, thanks to which it will taste even better.
To prepare this recipe, you will need:
- 180 g of butter,
- 180 g of brown sugar,
- 250 ml of milk,
- 70 g dried plums,
- 150 ml maple syrup,
- 70 g of honey,
- 3 eggs,
- 150 g dark chocolate,
- 280 g of wheat flour type 550,
- 7 g of baking powder,
- 20 g gingerbread spice,
- 30 g of dark cocoa,
- fat to grease the form.
Additionally:
- 180 g of powdered sugar,
- 1-2 tablespoons of water.
Cream the butter with 120 g of sugar until fluffy and light.
Heat the milk and plums in a pot to approximately 40°C. Mix everything until smooth. Add maple syrup and honey, mix and set aside.
Beat the eggs with the remaining sugar until fluffy.
Melt the dark chocolate in a water bath or in the microwave. Add it to the whipped butter and sugar and mix. Then add the mixed milk with plums and beaten eggs. Connect everything.
Sift flour, baking powder, gingerbread spice and cocoa into a large bowl. Pour the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and mix briefly. Pour the dough into a greased cake tin about 37-38 cm long.
Bake at 180°C for 30 minutes. Reduce the temperature to 160°C and bake for another 45 minutes.
When the gingerbread with chocolate has cooled down, combine powdered sugar and water and pour the icing on top. Set aside.
