O Botafogo once again faced significant difficulties in the medical department during the match against Corinthians, this Sunday (30/11), for the 36th round of the Brasileirão 2025. In an interval of just over an hour, the team lost two players to injury: first Savarinostill in the initial stage, and then Alvaro Montoroin the second half.
What happened to Savarino
The series of setbacks began 31 minutes into the first stage, when Savarinonumber 10 on the team, felt pain in the back of his right thigh after a sprint. The attacking midfielder immediately fell to the pitch and asked for assistance, making it clear that he would not be able to continue. Álvaro Montoro was called in to replace the Venezuelan.

What happened to Montoro
Montoro he also failed to stay on the field. According to information from the Premiere channel broadcast, the player suffered a hip injury in the first half and tried to continue in the game using protection. The situation, however, worsened in the second half: in the 24th minute, the midfielder fell crying in pain and had to leave the pitch on a stretcher, visibly shaken.
Before the game even started, Botafogo was already without Alexander Barboza, who was out due to pain in his right knee, and Danilo, injured in his thigh after the duel with Grêmio the previous weekend.
Savarino and Montoro exams
Savarino and Montoro will undergo imaging tests in the next few hours. The two casualties increase the concern of the Botafogo technical committee for the final stretch of the Brasileirão.
Depending on the severity of Savarino’s injury and Montoro’s condition, both could be absent for the team’s last two commitments in the championship – against Cruzeiro, next Thursday (04/12), at Mineirão, and against Fortaleza, on Sunday (07/12), at Nilton Santos.
