Ficus delights with its tiny, green leaves. Unfortunately, they may start to turn yellow and fall off. Then, seeing that our plant is wasting away, we must take appropriate action to save it. An unusual product that will quickly restore the ficus’ energy may be helpful.
Sometimes it happens that our usually lush and vigorous ficus suddenly begins to weaken. It stops its growth and its the leaves fall off and those that remain have an unsightly, matte surface. This is then a clear signal for us that something disturbing is happening to our plant.
At such a moment, it is worth using a home method that is practiced by experienced gardeners and will make our ficus come to life. This is a cheap and effective method. Namely, just use beer. However, it must be stale and diluted.
Using it to feed the ficus makes sense because beer contains ingredients that support the development of the specimen. It contains yeast, which is a natural growth biostimulator. Moreover, we will find some nitrogen in it, which supports the development of leaves. Sugars are also valuable as a source of energy and contained in the drink proteins, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and calcium. All these elements can improve the condition of our ficus.
Creating a homemade beer supplement is not difficult. The first step is to leave the open drink for about 24 hours, because the more weathered it is, the safer it will be for the ficus root system.
After 24 hours, dilute the beer with water in a 1:1 ratio. It is important that our solution is at room temperature. With its help we can plant once every 3-4 weeks. This should not be done more often so as not to harm the specimen with excess ingredients.
The first effects of using the beer conditioner will be visible after 1-2 days, because the ficus leaves will become firm and regain their shine. In addition, the entire plant will look better and regain its former energy.

If you want the effect of your homemade conditioner to last longer, It is worth taking care of several issues that will have a positive impact on the ficus. First of all, we must remember that this plant does not tolerate frequent relocation. Any movement of the pot or change of position may cause stress and result in the plant shedding its leaves.
In addition, we must ensure that the plant is watered properly. This should only be done when it dries out slightly between water doses, because Ficus tolerates overwatering much worse than temporary drought. It is also worth wiping the leaves regularly with a damp cloth, which removes dust and allows for more effective photosynthesis.
