The driver who ran over and dragged a woman on Marginal Tietê, in the north of São Paulo, was arrested on Sunday night (30).
According to the SSP-SP (São Paulo Public Security Secretariat), the man, identified as Douglas Alves da Silva, aged 26, was wanted for attempted feminicide and had the intention to run over and kill the victim.
The case was registered at the 73rd DP (Jaçanã) and is investigated by police. A CNN Brazil tries to contact Douglas’ defense for positioning.

The pair leave the security camera’s angle and, 30 seconds later, the camera captures the collision. The driver not only runs over her, but runs over the woman with his car and drags her along the street.
A second video, taken by a person driving on Marginal Tietê, shows the man dragging his wife a long distance along the avenue.

Leg amputation
After the crime, the victim, a 31-year-old woman, was rescued and taken in serious condition to the Hospital Municipal Vereador José Storopolli, with apparent injuries to her face and both legs.
Mother of two children, the woman needed to be intubated and required a blood transfusion.
Driver arrest
After analyzing the circuits, the PM located a vehicle compatible with the one involved in the crime. Based on the information already gathered about the suspected man, police went to his address, but were unable to locate him.

According to the incident report obtained by CNN Brazilwhen they entered the hotel room, Douglas resisted, “attacked violently” against one of the police officers and tried to take the firearm from the agent’s hand. During the action, the police officer fired a shot that hit the criminal in the arm.
The other agent immobilized Douglas and, in the restraint, injured his finger. The suspect received medical assistance from agents and was taken to a local hospital. Upon being discharged, he was sent to the 4th Siege Section (Special Corps for the Repression of Organized Crime), in the North zone of the capital of São Paulo.
The Civil Police requested forensic examinations of the room where the suspect was at large and the bodies of Douglas and the injured officer. The man may be liable for resistance and bodily harm, as well as attempted feminicide.
The police are investigating what type of relationship Douglas had with the victim.
