The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) asked the 10th Court of Justice of Alagoas to declare the bankruptcy of TV Gazeta, a broadcaster founded by former president Fernando Collor. The information is from the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo.
According to the newspaper, BNDES claims that the company did not pay a portion provided for in the judicial recovery plan, in force since 2019, in the amount of R$14,500, which should have been paid by November 25th.
The bank states that it sent the invoice to TV Gazeta’s financial area, but the payment was not made until the end of banking hours on Monday (1st).

If the issuer does not make the payment within 15 days or refuses to justify the reason for the delay, the BNDES will request that the bankruptcy be approved in court due to non-compliance with the agreed plan.
TV Globo broke its partnership contract with the Alagoas broadcaster in October this year, after TV Gazeta received an injunction that forced Globo to renew the contract for five years in 2024.
