According to Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD), no political calculation can threaten the rare Slovak-Czech relations. He announced this after a meeting with the Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Tomio Okamur, who visited Slovakia on Tuesday. TASR was informed about this by the press and information department of the Slovak Government Office.

“I am very happy that today I had the opportunity to personally meet with the new Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Tomi Okamur and his parliamentary delegation copying the new government coalition. A great meeting full of understanding and mutual respect,” assessed Fico. He added that once again sees the prospect of joint negotiations between the governments of the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic and, above all, the restoration of the strength of the V4, which, according to him, when it takes hold, can also change European topics.
On Tuesday in Bratislava, Okamura also met with the President of the Slovak Republic, Peter Pellegrini, and the Chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, Richard Raši (Hlas-SD). The visit to the Slovak Republic was Okamura’s first foreign trip in the capacity of the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies.
