Since the Ministry of Agriculture announced on Friday that two wild boars had died from African swine fever in Barcelona, ​​a disease that had not been detected in Spain since 1994, the consequences have been increasing. So far, 19 countries have decided to veto the entry of Spanish pork, while another 24 have decided only from the affected area in Barcelona. The Coordinator of Farmers and Livestock Organizations (COAG), one of the main organizations in the primary sector, assures that the ministry has not yet provided the list of all the markets that have only prohibited the purchase of pork from the affected area because this department “is closing the open bilateral negotiations with all countries, so until there is 100% confirmation, no more data will be given.”
