This Tuesday morning (2), the PF (Federal Police) launched an operation against cyber attacks targeting federal deputies and senators.
The police action, called Operation Intolerans, aims to repress and clarify denial-of-service (DDoS) cyber attacks carried out against parliamentarians who expressed support for a bill known as the Anti-Abortion Bill.
According to the PF, “the investigations identified that several federal deputies’ websites were the target of coordinated attacks, resulting in instability and periods of unavailability, affecting institutional communication and legislative action”.
Two search and seizure warrants were executed against suspects located in São Paulo and Curitiba (PR).
The operation was supported by foreign partners through international legal cooperation.
According to the PF, investigations will continue until everyone involved in cyber attacks is identified, in order to ensure that the perpetrators are held accountable.
