PHOTO Surprising delicacies at the Christmas markets in Paris: HOW MUCH will you pay for frog legs or snails?

With the arrival of December, cities begin to wake up to their most beautiful season. Stalls grow in the squares, the smell of spices wafts through the air and the first lights announce that the Christmas markets are here. Although they can be found almost everywhere, no two are the same. Each country has its own customs, tastes and smells, which can really surprise many a tourist.

What is a matter of course for locals may seem exotic, strange or even shocking to visitors. Slovak ones traditionally have the smell of cabbage, gypsy, mead or hot punch. There are sweet trdelniks, loksas, but also handmade decorations, craftsman products and carols, which complete the real festive chaos.

Groups are created on social networks in which people share pictures of Christmas markets from different corners of the world with each other. In a group Basia published pictures from the markets in Paris, specifically from the Marché de Noël de la Tour Eiffel.

In the series of photos that you can find in the gallery, you can also see the prices of some products. Here you will pay 10 euros for sweet pastries covered with chocolate and sprinkled with pieces of finely chopped nuts.

250 grams of orange honey are also sold in the markets for 11 euros. You pay from 5 to 8 euros for mulled wine, depending on the size of the glass. Here you can also enjoy three types of sauces – fondue, chorizo, fondue with truffle – to which they add a few pieces of bread. You pay 16 euros for one portion.

But the most interesting food on the market are definitely the frog’s legs with garlic and parsley and the snails. These are typical dishes for France. Five pieces of frog legs cost 12 euros, for 10 pieces you pay 20 euros. You can buy six pieces of snails for 12 euros and pay 20 euros for 12 pieces. PHOTOS from the markets can be found in the gallery.
