President of CPMI orders arrest of former INSS coordinator

The president of CPMI (Mixed Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) of the INSS (National Social Security Institute)senator Carlos Viana (Podemos-MG), decreed, in the early hours of this Tuesday (2), the arrest of Jucimar Fonseca da Silvaformer general coordinator of payments and benefits at the organization.

“Mr. Jucimar, for saying here that you were not summoned correctly, and for not giving the correct dates that the prosecutor asked you about the sentence, you are under arrest for keeping quiet about the truth. I order the General Secretariat of the Police to take Mr. Jucimar so that the act can be recorded,” said Viana.

Jucimar’s testimony, despite being expected by deputies and senators, had been postponed through the presentation of a medical certificate by the defense. He was removed from his position in April this year, when the PF (Federal Police) operation into fraud and irregularities at the institute was triggered.

“I was a General Coordinator and regarding mine… I was under the hierarchical authority of the Director of Benefits, the President of the INSS, therefore I had no decision-making power on these issues that are being highlighted by the CPI”, he highlighted.

Jucimar also said that he never signed a payment authorization because “he was not responsible for paying expenses for an entity”, but that he only followed up.
