The PSP arrested a 40-year-old man after a dangerous chase involving his ex-wife and the couple’s children, aged 9 and 14, in the parish of Olivais, in Lisbon. The episode, which was recorded on video and spread on social media, put the lives of the victims at risk and caused injuries to the children.
According to the PSP, the woman, upon arriving home, realized that her ex-partner was waiting for her and pressed the panic button before continuing her journey, being immediately chased by the attacker. During the journey, the suspect repeatedly tried to outrun the victim’s car and even got out of the vehicle to attack those inside, punching the passenger side window.
The chase involved collisions between vehicles, causing injuries to children who required medical assistance. After analyzing the images and police investigations, the man was intercepted and detained in flagrante delicto, around four hours after the incident, for domestic violence.
The suspect will be present for the first judicial interrogation to apply coercive measures.
