President Pellegrini will participate in the V4 summit in Ostrichom. They will discuss the competitiveness of the region and artificial intelligence to strengthen the economic position of Europe.
Slovak President Peter Pellegrini will take part in the summit of the V4 heads of state in the St. Vojtech Center in Ostriho on Wednesday (December 3). The meeting is organized by Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok within the current Hungarian presidency of the Vyšehrad Four. TASR was informed about this by the Office of the President of the Slovak Republic.

The aim of the meeting of the presidents of Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary is to confirm the common interest in continuing the cooperation between the countries and at the same time to develop mutual understanding in the Central European region. “During the plenary meeting, the heads of state will therefore discuss the past, present and future of the International Visegrad Fund. Therefore, the executive director of the fund, Linda Kapustová Helbichová, will be present at the meeting, who will present the president with the 25-year history of the fund and its contribution to building ties between the V4 countries and nearby regions,” the office said.

They added that the heads of state will also address the topic of increasing competitiveness, especially in the context of strengthening productivity, modernization and strengthening the position of the Central European region. According to them, the third topic of the negotiations will be the revolution in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), where the heads of state will exchange views on the effective use of AI and modern technologies to strengthen Europe’s economic position.
Security and challenges
As they pointed out, part of the summit program will also include a working lunch, during which the presidents will talk about the role of Visegrad cooperation in solving common challenges, for example in the field of security, defense, migration, transport and energy security. They added that at the end of the program, the heads of state will visit the Ostrihom Christmas markets together.
“At the same time, before the start of the summit in the Ostrihom basilica, the President of the Slovak Republic will honor the memory of Alexander Rudnaya by laying a wreath at his crypt in the basilica. This important Ostrihom archbishop of Slovak origin played a key role in the beginning of the construction of the local basilica in 1822,” the office said.
