This year, the thirteenth pension will be delivered to all recipients no later than December 19, which means before Christmas. The Minister of Labor, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic Erik Tomáš (Hlas-SD) informed about this at a press conference on Tuesday.
“Exactly today, December 2, we officially start paying the thirteenth pension. As is already known, the payment period for pensions is from the 2nd to the 24th of the month. Due to the thirteenth pension, however, we want to shorten this payment period in December, so the thirteenth pension will be paid from December 2 to December 19, so that every single recipient of this benefit and this pension will receive the thirteenth pension before Christmas“, said the head of the Department of Labor.
All beneficiaries whose pension is paid by the 19th of the month should thus receive the thirteenth pension together with the twelfth pension. Those who are paid after the 19th day of the month will receive a regular pension on the relevant day after the thirteenth pension is paid, Tomáš zoomed in.
The minister emphasized that the thirteenth pension will be paid this year in exactly the amount it should have been paid, i.e. in the amount of the average pension for the previous year in all categories of pensions. In the case of old-age pension, early old-age pension and disability pension after reaching retirement age, the amount is 667.30 euros.
Furthermore, in the case of disability pension for disability over 70% and social pension, it is the sum of 548.50 euros. Recipients of a disability pension will receive up to 70% disability 301.40 euros, widow’s pension recipients 363.20 euroswidow’s pension 300,10 euros and an orphan’s pension 300.00 euros.
“In the case of all types of these pensions, we pay the thirteenth pension in the amount of the average pension in that given category for the previous year,” Tomáš reminded. At the same time he added that pensioners who also worked abroad will receive their thirteenth pension in due time, in proportion to the number of years they worked in Slovakia.
