Introducing heart-friendly foods into your diet doesn’t have to be difficult. Just a few simple ingredients are enough to create a creamy paste perfect for breakfast or dinner.

People struggling with cardiovascular problems should choose products with unsaturated fatty acids, while limiting saturated fats and cholesterol. This paste is based on just that – it connects two species of fish rich in omega-3, velvety avocado i fresh herbs. Thanks to this, it supports the proper functioning of the circulatory system and helps maintain favorable cholesterol levels.

Importantly, instead of heavy mayonnaise, there is natural yogurt, which adds lightness and subtle sourness.

Ingredients:

  • ½ ripe avocado,
  • ½ teaspoon of black pepper,
  • ½ teaspoon of salt,
  • ½ small onion,
  • 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard,
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice,
  • 1 can of tuna in its own juice,
  • 180 g smoked salmon,
  • 3 tablespoons of natural yogurt,
  • a small bunch of dill.

Preparation method:

  1. Chop the salmon finely. Drain the tuna and mash it with a fork in a bowl. Combine both types of fish.
  2. Peel the avocado, mash it with a fork and add it to the fish along with finely chopped dill.
  3. Cut the onion into small cubes, scald with boiling water, dry and add to the remaining ingredients.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix yogurt, mustard and lemon juice. Pour the mixture into the paste and mix thoroughly.
  5. Season with salt and pepper. Place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors mingle.

The paste tastes best on rye or whole grain bread, which also provides fiber that is beneficial for intestinal function and metabolism. Store the paste in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Use it within 3-4 daysalthough it usually disappears much faster.
