Putin claims that European governments make such demands in connection with the American peace plan for Ukraine, which Moscow considers absolutely unacceptable. According to him, the intention of the European states is to sabotage the negotiations and subsequently blame Russia for their possible failure. He also stated that no one excluded Europe from the talks on Ukraine and it withdrew from them on its own.
The envoys of the US president, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, are currently in Moscow to discuss the US peace plan for Ukraine with Putin.
