Recently crowned champion of America, Flamengo is already moving towards one of the most recent priorities for 2026: Gabriel Brazão. In the current scenario, the Santos goalkeeper emerges as the red-black board’s favorite to take over the position.
According to information gathered by ge, the Rio club is monitoring the situation at Peixe, still involved in the fight against relegation, and intends to start negotiations when the Brasileirão ends.
Internally, Flamengo believes that the deal is possible and already knows the financial conditions desired by the 25-year-old athlete.

Will Brazão play for Flamengo?
In the middle of the year, Flamengo and Brazão had reached an understanding, but Santos blocked the transfer. The São Paulo club did not want to give up on the player and relied on a fine considered unfeasible for the national market.
If Peixe is unable to remain in Series A, according to ge, the dialogue on negotiation values may gain more flexibility.
Today, Santos holds 60% of the athlete’s economic rights, while the other 40% belongs to Inter Milan.
Revealed by Cruzeiro, Brazão has spells at Parma, Inter Milan, Albacete, Oviedo, SPAL and Ternana before landing at Santos in February 2024.
At Alvinegro, he took over as starter in May last year and established himself in the team. The goalkeeper has been on the field 82 times wearing the Santos shirt.
Is Rossi leaving Flamengo?
Flamengo is also looking to resolve Rossi’s renewal. Absolute starter and one of the pillars of the Libertadores squad, the Argentine has a contract until the end of 2027, but talks to expand or adjust the contract have not progressed in recent months.
Rossi arrived at Rubro-Negro for free in 2023, after a quick spell at Al-Nassr. Since then, he has accumulated great performances. Today, his salary is below the standard of the other starters, and there is consensus at the club about the need for an increase.
In Rossi’s case, there is still no definition as to whether the agreement will be solely financial or whether there will be a contractual extension.
