The Liberal Party (PL) announced that it had suspended negotiations on an alliance with former presidential candidate Ciro Gomes in Ceará after a meeting called to put an end to the public fight between the former first lady, Michelle Bolsonaro, and her stepsons Flávio, Carlos and Eduardo Bolsonaro.
The crisis began on Sunday, when Michelle went to an event to launch the pre-candidacy of senator Eduardo Girão (Novo-CE) for the state government, in Fortaleza, and publicly criticized federal deputy André Fernandes (PL-CE) for his alliance with Ciro to defeat the PT in the state.
The statements went down badly among the former president’s children, who publicly defended André and called Michelle’s behavior authoritarian. The PL then called the meeting at the party headquarters in Brasília.

Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) called the crisis communication “noise”, stated that a disagreement of this type will no longer happen and that coordination in Ceará is suspended until the party finds a way out.
“(There was) a noise in our internal communication, since negotiations over all states in Brazil have already been taking place, but it was made public very prematurely in Ceará,” Flávio told journalists after the meeting.
Participating in the “washing of dirty linen”, in addition to Flávio, Fernandes and Michelle, the national president Valdemar Costa Neto and the secretary general of the party, senator Rogério Marinho (RN).
Bolsonarists agreed to discuss the composition of the tickets and alliances internally from now on so as not to take questions to the public and cause new splits.
“From now on, we will do what always has to be done: we will talk internally with those who know the regional reality best. And think about the best way to restore our country’s project to prevail again from 2027 and analyzing each scenario very calmly. It won’t happen again”, he declared.
