Clube informed that “there was a discrepancy in the amount charged by Calleri’s manager and, therefore, São Paulo awaited the decision from FIFA, responsible for intermediation”. This is the second time that São Paulo has been punished with a transfer ban in 2025. In August, the club was punished after being sued by FIFA by Cerro Porteño, from Paraguay, for late payment of installments related to the signing of midfielder Damián Bobadilla, purchased in December 2023 for approximately R$15 million.

On that occasion, the Tricolor board regularized the situation on the same day, after reaching an agreement with Cerro and was able to register right-back Maílton, who was already training with the rest of the squad and awaiting regularization.
