December is a time of intensive cleaning, including in the bathroom. However, not everything can be done easily, especially when it comes to the shower cabin, which often suffers from stubborn stains and limescale.
However, there is a solution that will restore its purity and shine, even if it is very neglected. Just use the leftovers after dinner, which work great as a practical, cheap and ecological cleaning agent.
You can use potato water to clean the shower cabin. This is not a joke, but a brilliant trick that our grandmothers used while cleaning before Christmas, but in recent years it has been somewhat forgotten.
Potato water contains starch, which has cleaning and slightly polishing properties. Therefore, it can be used both for wiping stoves and sinks, as well as for refreshing frying pans, or for cleaning a dirty shower cabin.
The starch contained in potato water helps remove scale and stains by dissolving them, so you no longer have to use expensive, chemical-filled detergents.
If you want to test this trick for yourself, take the potato water into the bathroom, spread it around the cabin with a sponge and leave for 10-15 minutes. After this time, wipe it lightly and rinse with clean water.
You can also simply cut it in half and rub it over the surface in circular motions. Use this method 1-2 times a week for best results on sediment that is difficult to rinse off with just water, but does not require strong descaling agents.
After cleaning with potato water, the cabin should be much cleaner and shinier. If this method does not bring the expected results, use vinegarwhich, thanks to its acidic properties, effectively disinfects the surface and deals with limescale.
Citric acid will also work on heavily dirty bathroom surfaces. Just dissolve 2 tablespoons of acid in 200 ml of warm water, apply the mixture to the dirt and clean it with a sponge after a few minutes.
